John, New York Attorney General Letitia James just filed a lawsuit alleging “staggering” fraud by the disgraced, twice-impeached ex-president Donald Trump, his business associates, and his adult children in New York state court.

James alleges that Trump engaged “in years of financial fraud to enrich himself, his family, and the Trump Organization.” And here’s the thing, that sounds an awful lot like his time in the White House, and after it, too.

For years, I’ve defended our Constitution and the rule of law from Trump’s abuses of power while in office. But if we lose our Democratic majorities in Washington, Republicans will remove me from the Intelligence Committee, and let Trump off the hook.
