"I'm exactly where I was" on abortion John, If you’ve been in the same room as a TV or computer lately, you’ve probably seen ads with Joe O’Dea’s daughter telling you he “supports a woman’s right to choose.” So, is that what he told Colorado’s fundamentalist pro-life groups? Trying to defend himself on Meet the Press, O’Dea said he is “exactly where I was when I started this campaign”: months before he won the GOP nomination, and months before Roe v. Wade was overturned— If you’re a pro-life Republican who hasn’t changed your position since Roe was overturned, then you don’t support a woman’s right to seek an abortion. And if your position on abortion is total nonsense, like you’re both for and against a woman’s right to make her own decisions with her doctor, then you’re simply unfit for the job of a U.S. Senator. The Senate is evenly divided with 50 Democrats and 50 Republicans. Roe v. Wade has been overturned, and it’s the job of our Senators to confirm federal judicial nominees - who for at least the next two years will be President Biden’s nominations - including to the Supreme Court. Joe O’Dea is an equivocating liar, cut from the same cloth as Cory Gardner who famously tried to have it both ways and failed. With our fundamental rights at risk, and the GOP hell-bent on taking them away, we can’t risk trading Michael Bennet for some slippery Republican millionaire.
