Exploring Constitutional Reasoning and Its Outcomes
Dear John,
Rulings made by the Supreme Court are interpretations of existing law. However, sometimes interpreting the law in a particular way has consequences that are unpopular. How should we think about this tension?

Explore the case of Morse v Frederick (2007) using our

Constitution Reasoning and Its Outcomes lesson. Students will learn about the different constitutional arguments that Justices used in their opinions in the case as well as the real life outcomes of these interpretations. They will also analyze the case to form their own opinions. In doing so, they will develop a fuller understanding of the importance and challenges of the rule of law.
