John,
In exchange for his vote on the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA), Senator Manchin struck a dirty pipeline deal. Thanks to you, we’ve generated over 430 calls and sent over 4,500 messages to Congress to try to stop this deal from moving forward.
But Manchin's deal is likely to be voted on in the Senate any day now, so today I went to Capitol Hill to demand that Congress reject the deal Manchin struck during negotiations over the IRA.

For making that demand, I was arrested along with other environmental leaders.
Time is running out for the fossil fuel interests that brought us Joe Manchin and his side deal. They can arrest us, but they can’t defeat us. The climate movement will win.
Call your senators today at 888-997-5380 and urge them to oppose Manchin’s dirty side deal. To speak with both your senators' offices, just call twice.
Thanks for taking action. Let's stop this thing!
Onward,

John,
Senators Manchin and Schumer struck a dirty deal last month in order to pass the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA). And now that the IRA has passed and been signed into law, Manchin is pushing his demand: legislation to fast-track approvals for dangerous fossil fuel projects.
But if enough of us speak up, we can stop Machin’s deal.
Call your senators today at 888-997-5380 and urge them to stand with communities, not big polluters, and oppose Manchin’s dirty deal.
Folks like you all over the country have been speaking out against this dirty deal, and it’s having an impact. Over the last month, we’ve generated over 1,000 calls to representatives from constituents, and we’ve organized rallies with our allies in Seattle, San Francisco and New York. Last Thursday, hundreds marched in Washington, D.C. to oppose Senator Manchin’s deal and the Mountain Valley Pipeline it would approve.
Your actions are working. Last Friday, 72 House members added their names to a letter to Speaker Pelosi announcing their opposition to the dirty deal.
Opposition is building, but we need to keep the pressure on to stop this dangerous deal. If Manchin gets his way, big polluters will force through their fossil fuel projects in any community they want.
Members of Congress need to hear directly from the people they represent, and we need to keep the pressure up. And news reports indicate Manchin’s fossil fuel deal could move forward in the Senate any day now!
Even if you’ve already called your representative, it’s now time to call your senators at 888-997-5380.
Making a call is a simple act, but it has a big impact. Here's how to make a call:
1. Dial your senators at 888-997-5380
2. Tell the office your name and zip code, then say:
“To protect our communities and climate, we can't allow Senator Manchin and his fossil fuel industry backers to lock us into decades more of dirty energy. I urge you to publicly oppose this permitting deal and all other fossil fuel handouts.”
Please call your senators today at 888-997-5380 to help stop the fossil fuel industry from running roughshod over communities and building whatever polluting project they want.
Thanks for taking action!
Onward,

P.S. Once you dial 888-997-5380 and are connected to your senator's office, call the same number again to get connected to your other senator.
