In just a minute, I’m going to ask you to contribute to my campaign as part of our final end-of-quarter fundraising push before the election. The truth is, we are slightly behind our fundraising goal for Q3. It’s not surprising given how many competitive Senate races Democrats are running in, but if we fall short of our goal then I may not be able to do everything I would like to keep our Senate majority blue.

We’ve been busy in Washington. While I haven’t had much time to focus on fundraising, I’m proud that Democrats came together to pass the Inflation Reduction Act, which includes the largest action to tackle the climate crisis taken on by Congress ever. Despite Republican opposition at every turn of the way, we got it done.

But if Mitch McConnell had his way, this bill would still be collecting dust on his desk. Our progress is only possible because of our razor-thin majority. And with how many important fights we have left to take on, we can’t afford to let MAGA Republicans flip the Senate.

So, I hope you can understand why I’m emailing you. We’re not that far behind where we need to be to hit our goal ahead of this all-important quarterly deadline.
