I wanted to reach out personally to make sure you saw the news that we are up on the air with our first positive TV ad [[link removed]] of the General Election.

I’m proud of how the ad turned out, and I must say, being behind the camera for the shoot sent me back to my days delivering the weather news. I was a bit rusty, but we nailed it in just a few takes. It certainly wasn't as high stakes as shooting a live newscast!

Launching this ad was also a huge reminder of just how powerful television can be -- not only because of its vast reach, but in the way it helps us connect with people. Some of the most enriching connections I've made have been with new friends and neighbors who saw one of my segments then ran into me at the grocery store or a restaurant. It's my hope that this ad has a similar effect in these final 47 days before the election.

As you may know, we adjusted our budget to get this television ad on the air earlier than anticipated. That’s because the super PACs spending on behalf of our opponent are driving up the prices of TV time -- so we’re being as efficient as possible with your contributions.

Friday is a big wiring deadline to send the stations funds to keep this ad on the air. We're hoping to raise another $20,000 before then, and your contribution of $5 would go a long way in meeting that mark.
