John – We got some big news last week! Mike Crapo has agreed to debate me.

This is a really important moment for our campaign, John.  

 

There’s no question we are the underdogs in this race. My opponent has been in the United States Senate since last century, and his political career started when I was just three years old. All that time in power has given him a LOT of advantage in the media and political establishment.

 

But this debate is an opportunity for the voters of Idaho to hear directly from both of us, and to decide for themselves who is looking out for THEIR needs.

 

I’m ready to make my case, and I know our policy goals are incredibly popular with ordinary Idahoans – policies like protecting abortion rights, shoring up social security, lowering prescription drug prices, bringing good jobs with living wages to Idaho, and strengthening unions.

 

We need to show up to this debate with the strength of a movement at our backs. So I’ve set an ambitious goal to raise another $20,000 before October 4th to prove that we’ve got real grassroots power behind our campaign. Hitting that goal will also help with my 3rd quarter FEC deadline, coming up in a few days.

It should be noted that Mike Crapo is the only Republican candidate for federal office in Idaho who has agreed to a debate. He’s also aggressively campaigning for the first time in YEARS because he knows there is a grassroots movement behind our campaign.

 

I’m excited to make my case directly to the voters on October 4th, and we’ve got to be ready to capitalize on that immediately. The funds we raise in the next two weeks will help cover the cost of mailers to reach voters in rural communities, and canvassing teams across the state.
