Folks, I’m writing to give you a heads up that over the next few days, you may be receiving a few more emails than usual from my team, but I ask that you don’t ignore them – we have a good reason.

The end of this month marks the end of the FEC quarter and our deadline to publicly report our campaign fundraising totals. It’s exceptionally important that we publish robust numbers. Our standing in this battleground race depends on a show of strength.

I’ll explain in more detail below, but if you’re in a hurry, will you rush a $25 contribution to my end-of-quarter goal today? Please know that I wouldn’t be asking unless it was important.

This report will determine how the final days of this race will play out. Right-wing pundits and national Republicans are already desperate to find any signs of potential weakness to fuel their attacks.

And if they do spot any shortcomings, you can bet that a flood of out-of-state GOP money will suddenly pour into this district.

With all that said, you’ll see our emails a bit more frequently this week while we’re working to bolster our fundraising numbers. We’ll also include regular updates on our race (and throw in a few jokes here and there), so I hope you’ll take a few minutes to read them.
