Friend,

We're writing to you from the White House. Yes, you heard that right. Our founder and CEO, Dr. Aimy Steele is appearing at the White House on today as part of “Communities in Action: Building A Better North Carolina.” The White House is hosting leaders from the state to discuss the impact of the American Rescue Plan and the Inflation Reduction Act. So far, the American Rescue Plan has provided North Carolina with over $16 Billion to expand housing stability, affordable healthcare, education and job creation while building permanent infrastructure for economic mobility in communities of color.Signal Boost Our White House Appearance

As you know our work focuses on BIPOC voters, emphasizing the closing of political investment gaps to ensure all voices in North Carolina are fully represented in upcoming midterm elections. The American Rescue Plan and Inflation Reduction Act use a groundbreakingly direct approach to address the priorities communicated by voters of color.

We're knocking doors everyday in communities of color and learning what people need- The American Rescue Plan and Inflation Reduction Act have specific provisions that ensure funds go to the people who need them most: the working poor and people of color. In North Carolina, over $215 million has been provided to build affordable housing. Over 670,000 families will save $760 per year on healthcare coverage. $307 million has gone to help historically Black colleges and universities. We’ve added over 308,000 jobs. This is more than a one-time aid package. We know that this kind of investment in structural equality will have profound effects in our communities for years to come.

Thank you for your continued support, which has helped to open doors to our important work.
