Fall at our New York shelter is a special time for our rescued residents. The cooler days welcome amber-hued strolls through fallen leaves and seasonal treats like apples and pumpkins! Sanctuary animals may gather a little closer as the air turns crisp and head into the barn a little earlier as the days shorten.
In celebration of the first day of fall, here are a few ways to embrace the season ahead with us! Plus, a must-have (just added!) vegan candle and a special rescue story.
We're Live! From Our Sanctuary to Yours
Grab a spiced beverage, cozy up on the couch, and livestream our New York shelter from the comfort of home. Thanks to explore.org, you can experience the sheep barn, cow pasture, turkey barn, and other shelter spaces without leaving your sanctuary. Watch our rescued animals socialize, snooze, eat, play, and more.

Sanctuary Sheep-Peeping
Book a guided tour of our 275-acre New York shelter to "peep" more than 600 animals - and vibrant fall leaves - including sheep, cows, pigs, chickens, turkeys, and other farmed species. Their inspiring journeys to Farm Sanctuary are sure to warm you up better than a mug of warm apple cider.
General public tours of the Watkins Glen shelter end on October 31 for the winter season. Our Acton, California shelter remains open year-round.

In Honor of Turkeys
For the first time since 2019, we are back in person with our beloved annual event: Celebration for the Turkeys! Join us at our Watkins Glen shelter on November 5 and at our Acton shelter on November 12 as we express gratitude for the animals who call Farm Sanctuary home.
Watch our turkey residents indulge in an autumnal feast of pumpkin pie, squash, and cranberries during the Feeding of the Turkeys Ceremony and spend quality time with animal residents during Open Sanctuary Time.

Freshly Poured: Snickers Candle
Snickers came from a breeding program but couldn't get pregnant. She narrowly escaped from slaughter and found sanctuary in 2019 -- finally able to live free from harm and exploitation.
In recognition of her journey, this 100% vegan, snickerdoodle-scented candle cozies up fall evenings with notes of warm vanilla and cinnamon -- and fills you with the warmth of compassion knowing that it helps animals like Snickers.

Believe in the Magic of Sanctuary
Born on Halloween, Missy had a grim and haunting start to life. She spent her days alone in a solitary pen - a nightmare for pigs, who are social beings and grow distressed without friends, enough space, and stimulation. With a little magic and a lot of care, we've learned that Missy is a friendly and affectionate pig who enjoys attention (and deep belly rubs).
