Join Casa Navarro State Historic Site for the second part of the 1841 Texan Santa Fe Expedition to New Mexico webinar series! We will discuss the main events narrated primarily by English jurist Thomas Falconer and American journalist George Wilkins Kendall, who wrote about their imprisonment and their march to Central Mexico along the Royal Road called El Camino Real de Tierra Adentro.

The past will come to life at Fort Griffin State Historic Site on Saturday, October 8, as living historians gather to portray life at the fort and nearby Wild West town as it was in the 1870s. Discover exciting demonstrations, education, and authentic frontier history.
 Barrington Plantation State Historic Site

Take an educational, lantern-lit walk through Old Washington and meet ghosts of the past, who will greet visitors at Washington-on-the-Brazos State Historic Site with stories of their lives to educate (but not scare) guests. Visitors will then be able to tour the Star of the Republic Museum by flashlight and enjoy snacks and drinks.
Book your spot at the Texas Historical Commission’s Real Places 2023 conference before a rate increase. Register by Friday, September 30 at midnight at the full conference in-person rate of $375—which includes all meals, snacks, and drinks during the event, including the opening reception and the THC Awards Banquet. On October 1, the full conference in-person rate will increase by $125.
Can’t make it to Austin in February? No problem. There are also early-bird savings for virtual registration, which includes livestreams of all keynote and breakout sessions as well as access to recordings of all sessions for up to 60 days.
