DNC highlights National Voter Registration Day: The DNC is marking National Voter Registration Day [[link removed]] with a new six-figure ad campaign targeting eligible young voters on college campuses across the country. The campaign includes digital ads on ESPN’s website, apps, and live sports streaming, Yahoo Sports’ fantasy sports apps, in highly trafficked areas of college campuses, and in aerial banners over college football stadiums on game day. The campaign encourages students to visit IWILLVOTE.com in order to register to vote before this November’s midterm elections. Read more in Roll Call [[link removed]] .
Republicans push national abortion ban, making their extreme agenda clear: Last week, Republicans made their extreme agenda clear by introducing legislation to institute a national abortion ban. The legislation comes on the heels of extreme abortion bans across the country, many of which have no exceptions for rape or incest, and is being spearheaded by Susan B. Anthony List – an extreme anti-choice advocacy group that seeks to end abortion. Senator Lindsey Graham [[link removed]] made clear the stakes of the midterm elections: “If we take back the House and the Senate, I can assure you we’ll have a vote on our bill” to ban abortion nationwide.
Democrats are taking action to combat dark money in politics: Today, President Biden is delivering remarks on the DISCLOSE Act, which would fight dark money in our elections and require dark money groups to report campaign contributions. Senate Democrats are also set to vote on the legislation this week.

Help Support Kevin Priola
Once again the Republicans want to waste tax-payer money. Our newest Democrat is currently under recall for standing up the extreme election-dening party.
From Morgan Carroll, Chair of the Colorado Democratic Party:
"This recall is just a political circus designed to distract from the real issues Democrats are delivering on: affordability, public safety, and Colorado’s strong economic recovery. It just confirms that the Colorado Republicans are more interested in punishing independent thinkers than addressing the issues facing Coloradans. Kevin knows who he works for -- his constituents -- and they will see right through this cynical power grab."

Congressional Candidate for CD5: David Torres
[[link removed]] Much of my career has been in leadership in the healthcare administration field as well as coaching football. After moving to Colorado Springs from Puerto Rico, at the age of four, I would spend the next thirty years as a part of the Colorado Springs community where I graduated from Liberty High School in 1997. After graduation, I joined the United States Air Force Reserves where I spent my time working at Peterson AFB. I am a father of a high school athlete (football) graduating in 2022 and a fourth grader with aspirations in sports and performing arts.
Help Elect David! [[link removed]] My wife and I were married in 2003 at Shove Memorial Chapel and she is currently an Emergency Room Physician Assistant working at both Penrose Main and St. Francis Medical Center. I, with the support of my wife, continually searched for ways to define how my dream of serving the public could be realized. I returned to college at the age of thirty-nine to finish my degree and to attempt to gain entrance into law school. It was during this process that I found that public service by way of congress would be the best platform to serve and unite my community.

It was easy to select the district that I would run for congress in as much of my experiences in life, family, and career was founded in Colorado Springs. A city I love and have such a strong desire to take to the next level of excellence.
Running against incumbent Republican Doug Lamborn gives me the opportunity to unite the district. The next level of growth and prosperity in our district lies within the next generation of leadership. I am that leader.
State Board of ED CD5 Candidate: Joseph Shelton
Joseph was born September 10, 1996, at Evans Army Community Hospital, in Colorado Springs, CO. Joseph's father being in the U.S. Army brought Joseph to travel until Sept. 2001, when he came back to live in Colorado Springs. [[link removed]]
Joseph attended Colorado Springs School District 11 for grades 1-12. He attended Irving Middle School in 2009 which was the year that Irving was closed down. Joseph was a part of a group of students wanting to keep the school open for future generations. Although unsuccessful, they attended Board meetings, protests after school hours, meetings with the Superintendent, and other events. The closing of Irving pushed Joseph to find a voice in his community and eventually find the need to run for his local school board. Help Elect Joseph! [[link removed]]
In 2012, Joseph found his passion in politics while volunteering for President Barack Obama's re-election campaign. While working on this campaign, Joseph learned about the commitment and care that political work holds for his community. In 2019, Joseph ran for the Colorado Springs School District 11 Board of Education, although unsuccessful in his run, he received 10,237 votes. After that election, he joined committees at both the local and state level, to learn more about his community and how he can help it continue to grow. Learn More About Joseph Here [[link removed]]
Currently, Joseph works for Colorado College. Before working at Colorado College, he was employed by Inside Out Youth Services, an organization working to advocate and educate on behalf of and alongside LGBTQ+ youth. Joseph's employment at Inside Out helped him find his passion for helping youth and supporting them in creating a voice within their community. In 2019, Joseph assisted in bringing Senator Pete Lee (SD11), Representative Marc Snyder (HD18), Governor Jared Polis, and First Gentlemen Marlon Reis to Inside Out Youth Services to speak about state legislators' work and what youth can do to create ripples of change in their own community. Joseph's work duties were assisting in leading safe dating relationship classes, classes about preparing for the future, suicide prevention programs, and other groups. His primary responsibility was to help youth get support in quitting the use of drugs, alcohol, and tobacco.
Joseph is running for the Colorado State Board of Education to support creating an environment that prepares every student for a future that is yet to be imagined. He knows that the students of Colorado deserve the best education possible and he is ready to bring forward the work to make sure we give a Colorado education to all.
