A Letter from Ken Hersh, President and CEO of the Bush Center

Before the year closes, I want to express my gratitude for your support of the George W. Bush Presidential Center. I’m incredibly proud to serve alongside people who work tirelessly to develop leaders, advance policy, and take action to solve today’s pressing challenges. You are a critical part, and I’m thankful for your investment in our mission.

As I reflect on 2019, I’m struck by this quote from President Bush which inspires the work here:

“Deeply rooted here and in each of us is the desire to serve others, safeguard timeless American values, and leave behind a strong country and freer world for our children and grandchildren. This is our charge, and we will keep it.”

2019 was an important year. Our work is attracting more attention than ever, our leadership programming is second to none, we’ve raised over $ 200 million for the A Charge to Keep capital campaign, our experts are increasingly asked to provide testimony and analysis to leaders at all levels and we’re delivering meaningful policy solutions that address critical issues. Most importantly, we’re contributing a values-based, compassionate conservative voice to an increasingly polarized world.

Most of all, I’m grateful to come to work every day with men and women who are committed to changing, saving, and improving lives, and who truly enjoy their work and each other. I’m humbled by the trust our various constituents place in our team. And, I’m thankful to President and Mrs. Bush, who continue to provide values-based vision and inspiration for our work.
