FiveThirtyEight today is showing Wisconsin and Georgia as the two tightest U.S. Senate races in the country. Two Oregon races in open, swing House districts where progressives can keep Dems in the majority are also in FiveThirtyEight's top tight races list.
All 4 of these neck-and-neck races have big polling updates.
With abortion access, marriage equality, gun control, Social Security, and the 2024 election in the balance, all 4 of these campaigns are making crucial decisions today based on grassroots donations and the resources they have on hand.
* * * POLLING UPDATES * * *
GEORGIA: Of the most recent 8 polls in Georgia, Raphael Warnock leads in half and Herschel Walker leads in half. A CBS News poll released today shows Warnock up by 2 points -- 51% to 49%. This race is the definition of a toss-up.
WISCONSIN: FiveThirtyEight reports that "Wisconsin Polls Look Good For Democrats." Yesterday, a new Sienna poll showed Mandela Barnes leading Republican Ron Johnson by 1 pt -- 49% to 48%. This race is going to be a fight all the way to the finish.
OREGON 5TH: In Oregon’s 5th Congressional District, where Jamie McLeod-Skinner defeated the 5-term "Joe Manchin of the House" in the primary, a new Global Strategy Group poll shows her 3 points ahead of election-denying, anti-choice Republican extremist -- 41% to 38%. But a Clout poll in August had her 10 points behind.
OREGON 6TH: Next door in Oregon’s 6th Congressional District, the most recent GBAO poll showed Andrea Salinas over her Republican opponent by 3 points, 48% to 45%. The same Clout poll that earlier showed Jamie McLeod-Skinner trailing by 10 points showed Andrea down by 9 points.
Resources are EVERYTHING in these neck-and-neck races -- and so much hinges on winning them.
