John,
On Wednesday, the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals ruled that a key portion of the Affordable Care Act is unconstitutional. While the ACA, for now, remains in place, this ruling sets the stage for more challenges that could undo the entire law.
I decided to run for Congress when I watched David Schweikert and his GOP colleagues vote to repeal the ACA with no plan to replace it. I couldn't stand by as healthcare for over 20 million Americans with pre-existing conditions was being recklessly threatened. If these latest challenges to the ACA go all the way to the Supreme Court, we'll be in the same perilous position that we were in throughout 2017 -- when politicians like David Schweikert voted repeatedly to end healthcare coverage for millions of Americans while having zero plan for a replacement.
The news this week is a reminder that we desperately need fighters for affordable medical care in Congress. As a former ER physician who has seen Americans’ pain up close as they struggled to afford needed medical care, I promise I will be that fighter.
Rep. Schweikert has voted repeatedly to strip away healthcare from 20 million Americans and jeopardize affordability for millions more. We must replace him.
Schweikert’s dark money donors just launched an ad campaign to help him in AZ-06. We need to raise $4,819 more by Sunday to keep pace. If you can, please help me bring our critical voices to Congress by chipping in $5 or more >>

With gratitude,
Hiral
