With just 48 days left until Election Day, we wanted to ask our supporters: what does it mean to be a governor?
The Georgia State Constitution reads:
“The Governor shall take care that the laws are faithfully executed and shall be the conservator of the peace” in the state.
But Brian Kemp has been executing an agenda that is far from peaceful. He passed a 6-week abortion ban that puts women’s lives at risk. He’s cost the economy millions of dollars. He exacerbated the gun violence crisis by making it easier to carry a gun. And he’s showing no signs of stopping any time soon.
And the only thing Brian Kemp’s “faithfully executing” is a far-right political agenda.
It’s rooted against women.
It’s rooted against people with low incomes.
It’s rooted against Black and brown communities.
And there’s no telling how much worse it will become if he’s reelected this November.
Stacey Abrams is running a campaign that is rooted in a vision of opportunity and success across Georgia — no matter your background or zip code. She’s running for Georgia’s families. But most importantly — she’s running for everyone who Brian Kemp and his Republican allies have counted out.
The next governor of Georgia should be someone who keeps Georgians safe. Someone who’s looking out for every community — not just the ones that vote for her.
Thanks for making our work count,
