Prayers for Puerto Rico After Hurricane Fiona   Dear friends, The images coming out of Puerto Rico are heartbreaking to see and even more difficult to endure in person; however, if there is one thing I know - it is that Puerto Ricans are resilient. They embody what it means to come together as a community to help their neighbors in times of need. I am praying for everyone who is still on the island, coping with the aftermath of Hurricane Fiona. It feels like not that long ago that we in Connecticut were hit by Hurricane Sandy. I remember being trapped in our home by fallen trees, seeing the destruction in my neighborhood and throughout the community, being worried for the safety of our friends and neighbors, and coping with the loss of power, telephone, cable and internet for three weeks. We felt isolated. My heart goes out to everyone in Puerto Rico. I assure them that they are not alone, we are here for them. ¡Hoy, todos somos Puerto Riqueños! Mudslides, flooding, and wide-spread power outages are just a few of the challenges the people in Puerto Rico are dealing with today. Mother Nature does not pick sides, she merely acts in a way that leaves many of us picking up the pieces. Nearly 5 years after Hurricane Maria, Hurricane Fiona has left many homes, businesses and communities devastated and destroyed once again. Now, as Americans watch our Puerto Rican countrymen struggle with another destructive hurricane, we should lend a hand and collectively help our island friends. I know that many are feeling the pressure of rising inflation and times are difficult for all of us, but I urge anyone who can to donate non-perishable items and other essentials to local charities and organizations hosting drives. The RNC Community Center in New Britain is working with the National Hispanic Republican Assembly, one of the organizations collecting supplies and money for Puerto Rico. I encourage those who can to donate. Que Dios bendiga a la gente de Puerto Rico. En servicio, Leora Levy   About Leora I am running to take on the far-left whose policies will make our country look more like the Communist Cuba my family and I escaped in 1960 than the United States we have all known and loved. I am running for Senate to lead the fight for freedom. Joe Biden isn't on the ballot in November, but his policies are. The way to beat back Biden is to beat Dick Blumenthal, and I am the political outsider who can get it done.
