Republicans in Congress just introduced a bill that would create a nationwide ban on abortions. They’re showing what they’ll do if they win more power in Congress in this November’s midterm election.

Here in Michigan, thanks to the hard work of the ballot initiative Michigan Reproductive Freedom For All, people can vote in November’s election to protect our right to abortion care.

The measure is on the ballot in Michigan as Prop 3, and I’ve endorsed a “Yes” vote. Getting out the vote in our largely Democratic district will make a big difference for the state, so our field team will be out talking with voters about voting Yes on Prop 3 in November’s election.

We’re up against a lot: Anti-abortion groups have already reserved nearly $16 million in TV ads in Michigan. Help us fight back!

People around the Midwest travel to Michigan for abortion care because it’s one of the few states in the region where abortion is still legal.

However, even in our state, abortion rights have been under threat.

We have a pre-Roe law that criminalizes abortions, and since the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade this summer, it could come back into effect. So far, our fights against this state law have only led to temporary solutions—unless a majority of voters turn out and vote for Prop 3 to change our state constitution and protect our rights permanently.

This is a huge deal for Michiganders, for people who travel here for abortion care, and for the human right to sovereignty over our own bodies. That’s why we will be knocking on doors and asking people to vote Yes on Prop 3 to keep abortion legal in Michigan.
