John: This is unbelievable – Eric Schmitt, our GOP opponent, just used official Missouri state resources to protect Donald Trump from the Department of Justice! 

Trump is locked in a legal battle with the Department of Justice over stolen classified documents – and now Schmitt, Missouri's attorney general, has signed a legal brief BACKING Trump! This political stunt, funded by taxpayer money, will do real harm – but it's only the latest in Schmitt's attacks on our democracy.

In the months after the 2020 elections, Schmitt played a central role in Trump's failed scheme to overturn Biden's victory. And even after the deadly insurrection nearly destroyed our democracy, he called the critical work of the Jan. 6 committee “an absolute joke” and a "clown show."
