John — around the world, we are seeing the impacts of climate change in real-time.

Right now, Pakistan is dealing with the aftershock of a horrendous flood caused by heavy monsoon rains. Entire regions three times the size of Portugal are flooded.

“Apocalyptic” only scratches the surface. More than 1,500 have been killed, and the count continues to rise. Meanwhile, millions are left homeless, and villages have been turned into islands – completely cut off from resources . Those displaced are forced to make due in camps that barely provide adequate shelter.

There’s no question that climate change is the culprit for this horrific natural disaster. But it’s also clear that those affected are not the same people who have the power to turn things around.

That power lies with our governments and our elected officials.

SEEC members understand that Congress and governments across the globe have a duty to their citizens and the world to act quickly on climate. They know that this latest tragedy in Pakistan is not just a warning sign but the beginning of a prolonged pattern of extreme disasters if no comprehensive action is taken .

SEEC members are working to push forward meaningful, substantive action on climate. They understand who feels the consequences and that saving our Earth is a time-sensitive mission. Will you contribute to their work to stop unchecked global warming and ensure comprehensive action on the climate crisis, John? [[link removed] -SL-EnvironmentClimate-RegTemplate-NA-NA&amount=10]

Now we are counting on you to help our SEEC members pass climate, clean energy and environmental justice policies in the 117th Congress while we undo the damage of the Trump Administration.
