My name is Jim Obergefell, and I’m the Democratic candidate for the 89th district of the Ohio House of Representatives. Admittedly, that’s probably not why my name sounds so familiar.

I was the lead plaintiff in the 2015 Supreme Court case Obergefell v. Hodges, which recognized marriage equality for same-sex couples throughout the country.

But thanks to an extremist Supreme Court packed with Trump-appointed far-right judges and the current 50/50 make up of the Senate, marriage equality is once again at risk.

Will you join me in supporting Tim in the race for Ohio’s open Senate seat by chipping in $25 so that we can expand our Democratic Senate majority and protect marriage equality?

When the Supreme Court struck down Roe, Samuel Alito name-checked several landmark cases, including the decision to legalize same-sex marriage, potentially putting it on the chopping block.

If we’re going to protect same-sex marriage, we need to do so through Congress—and we can only do that if we expand our Senate majority in November.

Tim Ryan is committed to protecting same-sex couples’ right to marry, but his race is one of the closest in the country, and he needs your help to stay on track to flip Ohio blue.

Can I count on you to stand up for marriage equality by chipping in $25 to help elect Tim Ryan? A GOP-controlled Senate would be a nightmare for the rights of same-sex couples, and we can no longer depend on the Supreme Court.
