** AGREE is in celebration mode!
------------------------------------------------------------

Dear friends, allies, and action-takers:

This Sunday, we’ll be out in our community at the Westcott Street Cultural Fair - visit our booth to celebrate our ✨10th Anniversary✨ with us. We couldn’t have reached this major milestone without you!

Join AGREE at the Westcott Street Cultural Fair!

Parade at Noon, entertainment and booths 12:30 - 6:30

More info here: [link removed]

We’ll be celebrating our donors, marching in the parade, and handing out new swag with our newly minted logo, conceptualized by our very own Lindsay Speer and designed by a fantastic volunteer Jacquelyn Deppe (you can find more of her work here ([link removed]) ). Join us to learn about a few of our ongoing campaigns ([link removed]) , take action to help win crucial climate legislation that will phase out fossil fuels from our buildings, take a 10th Anniversary selfie, and get some AGREE merch!

Over the course of the next few months, keep an eye out for more e-blasts with AGREE trivia and highlights from our ten years working for safe, affordable energy and the development of a green economy in New York State. We started as a coalition of organizations, morphed into an official 501(c)3 with one part-time staff member, and have since grown to a staff of seven - we have a lot to celebrate!
Here are a few examples of what we’ve been able to accomplish:
* We worked with allies across the state to ban fracking in 2017!
* We were part of the effort to decommission Indian Point, an aging nuclear reactor with a history of operational, safety, and environmental problems, and advocate for its replacement with renewable energy.
* We have helped 150 families transition from heating their homes with fossil fuels to heating and cooling with heat pumps!

** Take it from our dear friends at WE ACT for Environmental Justice and Food & Water Watch:
------------------------------------------------------------

I cannot understate the pivotal role that AGREE New York plays in advancing our transition away from fossil fuels in the State. With so much technical expertise, policy strategy, and genuine deep care for communities across the State, AGREE is able to move the needle on climate and energy policy like no other. And, making sure we are centering environmental justice in the energy space is difficult to do and AGREE does it with passion and accountability. We love AGREE!!

- Sonal Jessal, Director of Policy at WE ACT for Environmental Justice

AGREE is a truly special group. They’re an exceedingly rare combination of policy experts and organizers who reliably hold the line and fight for what is necessary rather than what power brokers deem politically possible. Truly some of the best and most effective people I have the pleasure to work with.

- Alex Beauchamp, Northeast Region Director for Food & Water Watch

So clear your Sunday calendar, come hang out at the fair with us and lots of other cool organizations, load up on swag, and please consider making a donation to help us keep going for another ten years!

With love and gratitude,

Jessica, Andra, Lindsay, Avni, Amber, Oluwatosin, and Jordan
