In celebration of NYIC’s This is Our New York 2022 Gala: 35 Years of Building Immigrant Power, we are thrilled to be honoring Darren Walker, President of the Ford Foundation; Kyle Bragg, President of 32BJ SEIU; and our Member of the Year Awardee, African Communities Together.

Darren Walker is President of the Ford Foundation, a $16 billion international social justice philanthropy. One of the most prominent leaders in philanthropy, he has been included on numerous leadership lists: Time's annual 100 Most Influential People, Rolling Stone's 25 People Shaping the Future, Fast Company's Most Creative People in Business, Ebony's Power 100, and Out magazine's Power 50. Most recently, Darren was named Wall Street Journal's 2020 Philanthropy Innovator. To read more about Darren, click here ([link removed]) .
Kyle Bragg is President of 32BJ SEIU. A member of 32BJ for more than 35 years, Kyle grew up in the labor movement and started organizing - leading his first strike - at 16 years of age. Under Kyle's leadership, 32BJ successfully negotiated the 2019 commercial contract which raised standards and wages for tens of thousands of workers in New York and beyond. Kyle is a member of the executive board of the National African-American Caucus of SEIU and serves on the international union’s first Racial Justice Task Force.
