Join your fellow Southeast District Laity for an In-Person day of learning, fellowship, and fun at Eagle Sky Christian Camp of the Ozarks in Piedmont, Missouri on Saturday, October 29 with Gathering/Check-in from 9:30-10:00 am. We will end the day's events at 3pm. Piedmont is located in the middle of the NEW Southeast District! This event is for persons 18 years of age and older.
Hear from our MO Conference Lay Leader Amy Thompson, about her call into lay leadership, learn several effective techniques to identify and train new leaders in your local church, and have some fellowship time along the way! You will also have the opportunity for some "active" and "downtime" recreation breaks during the day!
This provides an excellent opportunity to get acquainted with Eagle Sky Christian camp and the wonderful facilities, which many UM youth attend during the summer. In anticipation of the cooler weather, if you choose to participate, we will have time to enjoy the outdoors seated around fire pits.

Free Implicit Bias Course Available
The Missouri Conference’s work in race and culture exists to help us become a place for people from diverse cultures and generations so that, ultimately, we become a Church for all God’s people. Part of that work is understanding our biases, specifically the unconscious bias we all experience. “Implicit Bias: What We Don't Think We Think” is a resource for leaders, preachers and congregations to learn about implicit bias and its effect on everyday life and ministry.
