In shocking new audio, Wisconsin Senator Ron Johnson admits that he “would not support” marriage equality in the form of the Respect for Marriage Act. He claimed to support it initially just to get people “off his back.” Now, in an appallingly two-faced move, he’s vowing to work with right-wing Senators to block the passage of the Respect for Marriage Act, which would provide federal protections for LGBTQ+ and interracial marriage.1 We cannot allow this deceitful, power-grabbing politician who flipped his vote to represent the voice of the people.
Johnson has already been under pressure to resign because of explosive texts from his office found in the January 6 Committee investigations. Those texts said Johnson was going to deliver fake elector votes from Wisconsin and Michigan to former Vice President Mike Pence.2
Despite all the evidence to the contrary, Johnson continued to perpetuate the Big Lie that the 2020 presidential election was fraudulent for months after the fact. His bigoted views on marriage equality and election fraud are a far cry from the will of the people.

Now Johnson has come out and admitted that he agrees with Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas: the historic decisions providing the freedom for LGBTQ+ and interracial marriage were wrongly decided by the Supreme Court.
