The increase and brazenness of Republican-initiated litigation is tied to the larger trend of GOP election subversion. In my latest piece, “Republican Anti-Voting Lawsuits Pile Up in 2022,” I analyze this startling trend and outline how Republicans are not asking judges to ensure lawful votes are counted. Instead, they see the courts as another way to discount the votes of their political opponents and undermine the will of the electorate. As if enacting suppressive laws wasn’t enough, Republicans have turned to the courts as their next front in their ongoing war on democracy. They’ve placed democracy on the docket, and we must be ready to defend it.
