John – Today is National Voter Registration Day! And it’s the perfect time to check your voter registration status.

Those of us in Idaho are fortunate to be able to register to vote up to Election Day. But people in other states have to register to vote as much as a MONTH before the general election.

I know I have a diverse group of supporters from all across the country who are invested in helping us flip this U.S. Senate seat. I also know this election is incredibly important, no matter where you live.

So I want to make sure all of you have the opportunity to cast your vote in November – because your vote matters.

A graphic featuring a link to check your voter registration. The caption reads: “It’s National Voter Registration Day! Check your voter registration now at: roth for idaho dot social slash register.” The background is a faded image of a pile of buttons that say “VOTE” and “Your Vote Matters” and in the lower left corner is the logo for David Roth for U.S. Senate.

If you’re in Idaho, you can head over to rothforidaho.social/register to check your status right now. That link will take you to the page directly on the Idaho Secretary of State website where you can verify that your registration is current.

For everyone outside of Idaho, I encourage you to visit Vote.org and check your registration status there.

Why is it a good idea to check your registration?

Frankly, because Republican officials play a lot of dirty tricks to discourage people from voting. Voter rolls are regularly purged, particularly if you skipped a recent election. If you recently moved, or changed your legal name for any reason, that may also invalidate your voter registration.

Checking your voter registration status only takes a few minutes, and it’s the best way to make sure you’re ready and hit NO roadblocks when you go to cast your ballot.

As your next Senator from Idaho, I’m committed to removing barriers to voting to make it easier for people to participate in our democracy. I will wholeheartedly support the John Lewis Voting Rights Act and the Freedom to Vote Act, both of which are currently held up in the Senate by the filibuster.

If you believe that voting is a RIGHT that must be constitutionally protected, please make a contribution today to our grassroots campaign to flip this U.S. Senate seat and defeat Republican Mike Crapo.

My opponent doesn’t believe voting is a right, and he supports Republican efforts to make voting harder and less accessible.

Idaho has a reputation as a “red state,” and some Democrats think you can’t win here. But they’re wrong, John.

Here’s what I know to be true:

  • Democrats and Independents make up the majority of the electorate in Idaho.

  • Mike Crapo is not popular among his own voter base, because people are tired of a career politician who looks out for his corporate donors and not the working families of Idaho.

  • Democratic voter registrations have been SURGING these last few months since the Supreme Court struck down reproductive rights.

I believe there is more than enough support to sustain and even WIN a grassroots campaign like ours, and I see evidence of that every day in the voters I talk to.

Folks here are waiting for someone to step up who truly represents their interests, and I’m here to make that case. But I need your help to get the word out.

We’re still trying to raise the $7,500 needed for our first round of mailers to reach into rural communities who may not have heard of our campaign yet. Can you pitch in $50, $100, or any amount today to help us close the gap?

I’m not giving up on Idaho, and I hope you don’t either. We’re going to win this race and flip this Senate seat by proving to voters that I will fight for them in Washington.

Thank you for your unwavering support. I know we can make a difference together.

- David

David Roth is a single, gay dad running to flip a U.S. Senate seat in Idaho. His opponent is an extremist “pro-life” Republican who’s been in politics for 37 years. David stepped up to serve the state that has been his home most of his life, where he is now raising his two young sons, because every state is worth fighting for. There has never been an openly gay man elected to the U.S. Senate. Help us make history this year. Pitch in now to flip this seat and send David to D.C.
