Hi John,
It’s Stacey Abrams here. October 17 marks the first day that Georgians can cast their vote in person for this year’s election. We’re up against the architect of modern-day voter suppression — but that’s why we have a plan to get ahead of those long lines that Georgians know all too well.
It bears repeating, John: We’re up against the architect of modern-day voter suppression in this election.
Brian Kemp wants to discourage Georgians from voting in this election. He’s made it illegal to hand out water to voters in those long lines. He’s outlawed mobile polling stations. He’s even made it more difficult to obtain a mail-in ballot.
And make no mistake: Brian Kemp is banking on everyone waiting until Election Day to vote, looking at those long lines and turning right around. He’s counting on his system he designed to work in his favor on November 8.
We won’t let that happen. We will win in November, but we need to start getting voters to the polls in October.
To reach all those folks in every corner of the state and overcome Brian Kemp’s voter suppression, we need resources.
My team has put together an ambitious and data-driven organizing program that will empower us to reach Georgia voters all across the state before the start of Early Vote in Georgia.
But we can’t do this work alone.
This time, we’re not going to give Brian Kemp the chance to get in our way. Our power is in our numbers, and Kemp and his allies know this.
Your voice matters. Your vote matters. Together, we can build a better future for our families, for our businesses, for all of Georgia to thrive.
Thanks for sticking with me,
Stacey Abrams
