To understand why I’m running for President, you have to go back to the beginning.

I’m the daughter of a teacher and a newspaperman. I’m the granddaughter of an iron ore miner. Growing up as a girl in the 1970s, no one expected a woman from the middle of the country to run for President.

Not many people expected me to win my first local election or my Senate race, either. I was outspent by my opponents and Minnesota had never elected a woman to the U.S. Senate. But I defied the odds and won, and I’ve won every election since.

We need a President who's not afraid to take the fight to Donald Trump, tell the truth and get things done.

That’s why I’m here. But I can’t do this alone. This campaign isn’t about me, it’s about all of us. And today, I’m asking you to own a piece of it.
