John, my marriage makes me a better man, and it's one of the greatest and most cherished joys of my life.
My wife, Martha, has been a truly incredible partner – in raising our kids, in running for office, and in every walk of life – through challenging moments and sweet ones.
Marriage is a joy – one that everyone should have the right to experience.
But right now, the right to marry is under threat, and I'm asking you to protect it with me, John. Add your name to call on my Senate colleagues to protect marriage equality by passing the Respect for Marriage Act now.

In so many ways, marriage is about recognizing love. Spouses recognize it through our partnership and friendship. Our families recognize it when new faces at holidays become lifelong friends and cherished loved ones. And our laws recognize it through the invaluable rights that married couples earn – everything from qualifying for coverage through your spouse's health insurance to tax benefits.
But today, marriage equality – an issue we once viewed as settled law – is back on the GOP's chopping block. Emboldened by their conservative buddies on the Supreme Court overturning Roe v. Wade and now targeting same-sex marriage, the party of "small government" once again wants to butt in where it doesn't belong.
And that is why I'm doing everything that I can to codify this right into law and protect everyone's ability to marry who they love. The House has already passed the Respect for Marriage Act, which would do just that, but now we MUST pass it in the Senate.
I'm counting on you to make your voice heard: Please, will you sign this petition calling on the Senate to pass the Respect for Marriage Act and defend LGBTQ+ rights? We need another 1,482 signatures tonight, so add your name now!

Thank you so much for joining me in this fight.
With gratitude,
Tom
