John,
It’s National Voter Registration Day! And CHN and our allies are using this moment to remind everyone to register to vote or check your registration status. You can do it online. It’s quick and easy!

In 2020, approximately two-thirds of eligible voters turned out in record numbers to vote for the critical issues of our time and the candidates who champion them. However, since then, 19 states have implemented voter suppression laws targeting Black, brown, LGBTQ+, low-income, and other marginalized voters.
At a time when many states across the country are making it more difficult for people to exercise our constitutional right to vote, CHN and our allies are working to provide voters with the resources we need to make our voices heard.

Many people don’t know that when you move, you need to update your voter registration. And, in some states if you miss consecutive elections (including local elections), you’ll be automatically removed from the voter rolls.
In fact, between 2014 and 2016, states removed nearly 16 million people from voter rolls. That was four million more people than were removed between 2006 and 2008.1
As states get more and more aggressive with purging voter rolls, disenfranchising millions of eligible voters, it’s up to us to provide voters with the resources to make our voices heard. Thank you for everything you do to strengthen our democracy.
