For far too long, across the country and especially in local elections, Republicans have run uncontested in their races. With no Democrat there to challenge them, Republicans have dominated local elections and extremism has run rampant.
That’s why we started Contest Every Race. This year, we’ve recruited 65,000 potential candidates to run for office – which would have been impossible without your grassroots support.
Our program is cutting into the easy victories Republicans are used to, building progressive power in new places and most importantly – winning a lot of the time.
Even with all we’ve accomplished, we need your help to keep things moving. It costs us roughly $400 to successfully recruit a candidate into a race, but once we do, we have a 50 percent success rate – even though we focus on Republican-heavy areas.
