John, today we’re celebrating National Voter Registration Day by looking back on the more than 15,000 voters we’ve already registered this year — and, of course, continuing to register tens of thousands of new voters by the end of the year. Can you chip in $10 today to help us celebrate the day by keeping up our work?

There are more than 1.7 million eligible but unregistered voters in the Commonwealth, including the communities of color, immigrant communities and the youth. These communities have intentionally been excluded and neglected by politicians in power. Even today, the official Republican Party of Pennsylvania is recruiting “an army” for the explicit purpose of keeping it that way.

But, with your help, we can and will overcome their efforts. As we mentioned, we’ve already registered 15,000 new voters across Pennsylvania including the communities we center, and we will continue this work through the end of the year and beyond.

To put that in perspective, the New Pennsylvania Project started in May of 2021 with just one person knocking on doors, and we’ve since grown to a team of 25 full time staff with 15 fellows and more than 600 volunteers. So we are confident in telling you that we are on track to register tens of thousands of voters in the Commonwealth by the end of 2022.

But, John, we do mean on track, because we can’t get complacent now. We must keep up our pace, or we risk falling short. So in the spirit of National Voter Registration Day, will you chip in $10 right now to keep us on track to expand the Commonwealth’s electorate by registering tens of thousands of voters from our centered communities?

The New Pennsylvania Project was founded in May 2021 to expand Pennsylvania’s electorate, so it reflects the Commonwealth’s demographically changing population. In the next four years, NPP will engage and empower young residents and those living in under-represented communities of color and immigrant communities. We will register them to vote, provide education about the issues that matter in their neighborhoods, and mobilize people to vote in every election.
