Disability Voting Rights Week might be over, but our celebration continues. Check out the email below for lots of resources about how to vote in person or by mail in every state.
Remember to check your voter registration, and share our resources to others who might need help. You can also save the Election Protection hotline to your phone in case you see voter discrimination - that’s 1-866-OUR-VOTE or 866-687-86
If you missed our webinar on making a plan to vote last week, you can check it out here.

Subject: Let’s celebrate Disability Voting Rights Week!
It’s Disability Voting Rights Week! This is the time to make sure all people with disabilities are registered to vote and ready to make our voices heard! We know people with disabilities are affected by policies of all kinds, whether they have to do with COVID-19, reproductive rights, or education—that’s why it’s so important that we have a say.
Voting lets us choose who makes decisions around the issues that matter most to us, so make sure you’re prepared by celebrating Disability Voting Rights Week! Registering to vote is the first and biggest step—and we’re here to help! Register or check if you’re already registered here. Once you’re registered, it’s time to make a plan. Whether you’re planning to vote by mail or thinking of ways to stay safe while voting in person, we have resources for you. If you need accessible information about registering to vote in your state, or if you’re not sure whether your state allows you to vote, check out ASAN’s Easy Read 50 state guide for more information. If your state requires a voter ID, and you need help getting one, check out VoteRiders. For more great information about voting with a disability, check out our voting resource list, REV UP, or SABE’s GoVoter Project!
Still have questions? We’ll also be talking all about voting rights, in person and mail in voting, accessible voting options and more at our plain language webinar Prepare to Vote 101: Making a Plan on Thursday, September 15!
We can make change for our communities when we vote. We can put leaders in place who will take on the issues that impact our lives, and the lives of those around us. Remember, our elected officials work for us. Now’s your chance—get registered, make a plan, and spread the word so our community can be heard!
