Dear NRDC Activist,

I’m a proud registered voter. I never miss an election — I still remember voting in my very first one after I turned 18!

But I still make sure to check my voter registration status every year, because you never know what might happen, especially as Trump Republicans are making it harder for committed pro-climate voters like us to vote in the upcoming midterm elections in November. They’re working overtime in many states to pass voter suppression laws — kicking people off the voter rolls, implementing strict voter ID requirements, and worse.

Even if you’re already registered to vote, will you take just two minutes to confirm that your voter registration is active and up to date to avoid any nasty surprises when you go to cast your ballot? If you’re not registered yet, no worries! It’s quick and easy.

If you do need to update your registration, you can do it with time to spare. You can also request a mail-in ballot so you can vote safely by mail.

This year’s midterm elections are critically important: The values and issues we hold so dear — addressing the climate crisis, clean air and water, jobs, reproductive rights, racial justice, education, marriage equality, immigration — are all on the ballot this November.

Every single climate champion we elect to Congress matters. Just two additional Democrats in the Senate could mean the difference between passing more lifesaving pro-climate legislation or allowing corporate polluters and climate change-denying politicians to control every aspect of our lives.

I fiercely believe in the power of the NRDC Action Fund community, from the incredible donors and supporters who make the work possible, to the advocates who go to the mat to fight for the health of our planet and everyone on it.

That includes you. Together, we can elect environmental champions in Congress, in our own state houses, and in our cities and towns. But it’s going to be one hell of a fight.
