Ideas That Shape Our Lives

Highlights From the 2019 Aspen Ideas Festival

“We can defend as best as we can, but our government is the one that has the tools to apply pressure to Russia, not us,” said Facebook founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg at the 2019 Aspen Ideas Festival. Zuckerberg spoke with Harvard law professor Cass Sunstein on issues including government oversight, election interference, data privacy, and “deepfake” videos. The 15th annual Festival gathered over 400 presenters engaging with the most pressing challenges facing the world today, including the impact of the Supreme Court's latest rulings, the massive student loan debt facing millions of Americans, and much more.
