Friend, Today is National Voter Registration Day! Every September, National Voter Registration Day draws support from volunteers and organizations all over the country to reach as many potential voters as possible. The nonpartisan event seeks to create broad awareness of voter registration opportunities, reaching tens of thousands of voters who may not register otherwise. Every year, millions of Americans find themselves unable to vote. They may have missed a registration deadline or forgotten to update their registration, or they may not be sure how to register at all. The goal of National Voter Registration Day is to make sure everyone has the opportunity to vote. The National Voter Registration Day homepage makes it easy to register to vote – or to confirm that you’re already successfully registered. Even if you believe you’re already registered, we encourage you to double check! And please share the link widely with your friends, family and contacts – you never know who might benefit from the reminder to check their registration status. The right to vote is the cornerstone of our democracy, and we want as many people as possible to be able to exercise that right this year. Thank you for helping us get the word out – and once more, happy National Voter Registration Day! In solidarity, Your friends at the Southern Poverty Law Center |
