John, you may not know this, but for people with disabilities, saving can be pretty tricky:
If people with disabilities have more than $2,000 in assets, they risk losing eligibility for federal public benefits, like supplemental security income and Medicaid. That's just not right.
That's why my office offers the Delaware ABLE Plan. The Plan allows people with disabilities to save for a wide range of expenses in a tax-exempt account without jeopardizing their state or federal support.
Thousands of Delawareans with disabilities receive public assistance–and that shouldn't keep them from achieving financial security. With the Delaware ABLE Plan, we've been able to provide a tool for people with disabilities to save for their futures, worry-free.
I'm honored to be able to share our office's work with state treasurers across the country today, and I'm so proud of our state. We're leading the country in creating opportunities for financial literacy, stability, and security in our state–and that's because of your support.
John, I'm running for reelection because I am committed to ensuring the financial security of every single person in our state, and I want the opportunity to continue this work. But to do that, I need your help today.
We're only 50 days out from Election Day – will you contribute any amount to our team right now and help us secure a victory on November 6th? Every single dollar helps us reach out to voters across the state and tell them about our campaign. Every single dollar helps us reach out to voters across the state and tell them about our campaign.
Thank you so much for your support. It's an honor to represent our state today and every day.
Sincerely,
Treasurer Davis
