Earlier this month, I traveled to Madrid as a member of a congressional delegation attending the 2019 United Nations Climate Change Conference.
At a time when President Trump has abandoned our nation’s leadership role in the global effort to tackle climate change, we were there to send a message that the House of Representatives is committed to taking action to confront the existential threat the climate crisis poses to all of humanity.
In May, my colleagues and I joined together to pass the House’s first major piece of climate legislation in a decade -- the Climate Action Now Act, which would force Trump to stick to the Paris Climate Agreement and set a timeline for reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
But it’s been sitting in the Senate for months. We cannot stand alone in this fight -- join me to call on Mitch McConnell to bring the Climate Action Now Act to a vote!
This is the test of our species, and we cannot let this administration continue to turn a blind eye to the reality of climate change.
There’s no time to debate the facts -- it’s time for action,
Sean
