You may not have it marked on your calendar yet, but today is one of my favorite holidays.

Today, we celebrate our democracy by working to make sure every eligible American is registered. Since 2012, nearly 5 million people have registered on National Voter Registration Day. This year, I'm hoping that you or a friend will join them.

Even if you're already registered, this is also the perfect day to double-check that your registration is up-to-date at your current address. This election is too important to miss out on.

Each year, far too many people miss their chance to vote because they don't register or update their registration.
