The New York Times just reported that Ted Budd refuses to promise that he will accept the results of our Senate race.
No surprise, this is right in line with his vote on January 6 to overturn the 2020 election.
It’s clear Ted Budd is a far-right extremist – and will likely fall right in line with national Republicans’ attempts to overturn free and fair elections. If we lose, our democracy will be at risk.
When the New York Times asked Ted Budd if he would “commit to accepting this year’s election results,” not only did he refuse, but his campaign tried to claim without evidence that Cheri wanted to disenfranchise voters.
That is dangerous and speaks to how low our opponents will stoop to win this race.
It’s going to take significant resources to ensure a resounding victory that they cannot deny, so we’re counting on you to help us fight back.
