2020 written in sparklers
New Years Eve

Join us at Old Market Square on Tuesday 31 December for a night full of entertainment and celebration as we bring in the New Year and a New decade.

Enjoy a free street party, a spectacular fireworks display and live music from DJ Jeremy Prince as we start 2020 off with a bang. Winter Wonderland will remain open to provide the very best in food and drink to keep you fueled as you dance the night away.

Due to travel restrictions ensure you plan your journey well in advance; this is a countdown you won't want to miss!

?? Surrounding roads to Old Market Square will be closed for a short duration (11:15pm - 12:30pm)

?? The tram will be suspended from 11:20pm - 12:40am

?? NCT buses will not be using their usual stops on Beast Market/Angel Row

Remember to stay safe and be responsible once celebrations are in full swing. From all at Nottingham City Council... "Merry Christmas, and a Happy New Year!"

Behind the scenes of the Traffic Control Centre

Although it may seem counter-intuitive, traffic lights help keep Nottingham moving. Regulating the flow of cars, trams, buses, pedestrians and cyclists is a delicate balancing act, which the team at the traffic control centre monitor to help people get where they need to be.

Principle Officer Mark Collins gives us a behind the scenes look as to what the Traffic Control Centre is all about, and how important it is to the public and to keeping Nottingham moving.
