Trinity River waterwheels design complete!
Design plans for the Trinity River Waterwheels Initiative are now complete! This represents a big step in the advancement of this project, allowing it to move toward the implementation stage. During the next phase of the project, necessary federal permits will be pursued from the United States Army Corps of Engineers, a Department of Defense federal agency that has authority over any development on the Trinity River, as well as a floodplain development permit from the city’s Development Services Department.
In partnership with the Tarrant Regional Water District and Streams & Valleys, Inc., the City of Fort Worth is still seeking to reach its fundraising goal of $1.2 million dollars to build and install two waterwheels. There are seven different levels of sponsorship available, and though the city is still supportive of a Title Sponsor Donor, any donation is welcome. The implementation of the waterwheels is a significant part of the city’s and its partners' continuous effort to educate residents on the litter problem and to improve water quality.
Visit our website to check out sponsorship levels. Donations for the waterwheels can be made online or by check to Keep Fort Worth Beautiful. or through our 501(c)(3) partner Streams & Valleys. Take part in Fort Worth’s vision and become a waterwheel sponsor today!
Volunteer Spotlight
Shout out to New Mount Rose Missionary Baptist Church of Fort Worth who hosted a Keep Morningside Beautiful Cleanup Service Day on September 10, in honor of 9/11. Volunteers from the community schools, neighbors, and others worked to beautify their community after the flooding, collecting 2,000 pounds of trash from their neighborhood!
We invite you to make a difference in your own neighborhood and host a volunteer-led cleanup event! Volunteers can organize a group any day of the year and Keep Fort Worth Beautiful offers free supplies! Sign up here!
