Don’t believe their lies.
If we can find almost $800 billion to spend on endless war, then we can figure out how to make sure our neighbors don’t go bankrupt just because they get sick.
If we can find hundreds of billions to hand over to massive corporations in subsidies for fossil fuel companies, then we can find enough money to ensure our children will inherit a livable planet.
If we can find enough money for the Trump Tax cuts, then we can find a way to expand the Earned Income Tax Credit, and finally start building an economy that works for the working-class people of this country.
If we can let corporations like Amazon pay a net $0 in federal taxes, then we don’t need to cut food stamps just a few weeks before the holidays.
The issue has never been whether we can afford the changes that people want to see — it’s always been about our priorities.
Which means we need new leaders who will make health care for all a priority. We need a government which makes an economy that works for all a priority. We need to make working-class people a priority.
