Friend,

As Hurricane Fiona plunged Puerto Rico into darkness this weekend, it served as a bitter reminder of the federal government’s many failures to protect our fellow Americans. 

We’ve seen this cycle before: Storm hits, plans get made, press releases get issued, attention fades, follow through wanes, rinse, repeat. 

As New Yorkers, we have a special link to our brothers and sisters in Puerto Rico. They deserve better and this morning in the New York Daily News, I detailed what needs to be done.
