ICYMI, Veterans Turn Their Back on Blumenthal Over Stolen Valor
GREENWICH, CT - In case you missed it over the weekend, Connecticut veterans turned their backs on Senator Blumenthal as he addressed a crowd at the 100th birthday celebration of WDRC in Hartford. The incident comes 12 years after the New York Times uncovered the 37-year career politician lied numerous times about his service in Vietnam.

Political outsider and U.S. Senate candidate Leora Levy is a strong advocate for veterans and our active military. She called out Blumenthal for his stolen valor, saying:
“Our country’s veterans and active-duty servicemen and women are justifiably angry at a career politician who made a name for himself stealing the valor of others who actually did serve in Vietnam. He lied to Connecticut, to our veterans, and to the American People. His stolen valor is nothing more than an attempt to diminish the experiences of those who served our country. Shame on you, Dick.
"The members of our military and our veterans have given so much to our country and it has been my honor to support them. That is why I organized a project to furnish the first two mild traumatic brain injury clinics for our wounded soldiers in Afghanistan, one at Bagram Air Force Base and another in a remote Afghan location. I have always supported our active-duty members of our military and our veterans, and unlike Dick Blumenthal, I will always be a strong advocate for them in Washington.”
