Dear Friends,
Last Tuesday, the Bureau of Labor Statistics released the consumer price index (CPI) report showing that inflation rose to 8.3% in August – with Americans paying over $700 extra last month for everyday goods. The report also showed that core inflation rose 0.6%, which doubled the forecast. Making matters worse, the food index increased 13.5% from a year ago – which is the largest 12-month increase since the period ending in May 1979. Biden’s inflation crisis is putting a massive strain on the cost of food, with prices rising at an extremely alarming rate. This economic crisis is a direct result of Biden’s big government socialist policies and reckless spending.
As folks are clearly suffering from this administration’s policies, Joe Biden took time last week to celebrate his radical policies that are fueling this economic crisis. His promise to Americans that the “Inflation Reduction” Act would slow this economic crisis was nothing but a bold faced lie.

Committee Update |
Last Wednesday, the Ways and Means Trade Subcommittee held a hearing on the future of United States-Taiwan trade. During the hearing, I discussed the need for the U.S. to act quickly to strengthen our already robust trading relationship with Taiwan to counter the growing threat China presents. The Biden administration is lacking a coherent trade strategy which has weakened the U.S. influence in the Asia-Pacific region.

Biden’s Inhumane Open-Border Policies |
After traveling to Eagle Pass, TX and Nogales, AZ to see first-hand what's happening at our southern border, it's crystal clear that our border is wide open – with a large number of migrants illegally entering the United States every day.
This should come as no surprise to this administration since they've been misleading the American public on their open-border policies since day one. As a result, every state is now a border state. The Mexican cartels are continuing to send large groups of migrants across our border to tie up agents so they can traffic drugs into the U.S. They’re playing this administration like a fiddle.
I recently joined American Agenda to discuss what is happening on the ground. Click here to watch the full interview.

Georgia Chamber of Commerce Fly-In |
It was great to speak with the Georgia Chamber of Commerce during their D.C. fly-in last Tuesday. With the many challenges our economy currently faces, the resilience of our state’s business community has been remarkable. The Peach State continues to thrive as the best place in the country to do business.

POW/MIA Recognition Day |
Friday marked the Prisoner of War/ Missing in Action (POW/MIA) Recognition Day. We will always honor and remember the sacrifices made by the men and women in uniform who were taken as prisoners of war while defending our freedoms, and those who never made it home. We are forever indebted to these American heroes. Their memories and selfless service to our country will never be forgotten.

Responding to Vice President Kamala Harris’ comment that “we have a secure border,” Georgia Republican Rep. Drew FERGUSON tells Newsmax that the southern border is “nowhere near secure.” Speaking with “American Agenda” on Tuesday, the congressman says that the vice president’s comment to “Meet the Press” on Sunday is “disingenuous.” “The question I [would] ask,” Ferguson continued, “how would she even know, she doesn’t go down there?”
