In 2018, youth turnout rates were up by 125 percent compared to 2014.

However, too many young people still face obstacles to exercising their constitutional right to vote.

We have to make sure that every single eligible voter has access to the ballot box to make their voice heard.

The current system for voter registration and access leaves millions of younger potential voters outside of the political system, with young people of color disproportionately impacted. That needs to change.

Steps to make it easier to register like automatic voter registration, same-day voter registration, or online voter registration have been proposed and enacted in states across the nation.

And states with these measures making it easier to vote see increased numbers of millenials registering and voting.

Removing barriers to the ballot box ensures that every single voter can exercise their right to vote -- no matter age, race, or ethnicity.

Congress should take action to make it easier country-wide for young voters to cast their ballot.

Let America Vote is committed to creating political consequences for politicians who make it harder to vote. In 2018, our boots-on-the-ground teams knocked on over 340,000 doors to help flip the New Hampshire House and Senate, elect 100 voting-rights champions across the country, and help pass automatic voter registration in Nevada. We are building a grassroots movement that hold politicians accountable when they suppress the vote.

This message was sent to [email protected] because you are a vital part of our team. We're able to protect access to the ballot box because of grassroots supporters like yourself. Since we started knocking doors last year in Virginia, we've received more than 150,000 online contributions – and our average donation is $24.

We can't win the argument over voting rights alone, that's where you come in. If you'd like to join our fight to protect voting rights with a grassroots donation, please click here. Together we can create political consequences for vote suppressors.
