Say it with me now: If we don’t win state legislatures in 2020, the GOP will rig the district maps and further suppress the vote such that winning the House (or anything else) in 2022 and beyond is nearly impossible. Focusing on the presidential race alone is dangerous for our party and our country.
The good news is that yesterday, we endorsed 27 more candidates for state and local office, and they're joining a diverse slate of progressive Run for Something candidates. Winning state legislatures means we can get more people health care without dealing with Mitch McConnell's road blocks by expanding Medicaid in states like Florida, Georgia, Texas, the Carolinas, Wisconsin, and more. And there's so much more that we can do at the state and local levels -- unless the GOP continues to scoop those seats up.
