 We fund voter protection John, Last week, we learned that Republicans in the Senate have introduced a bill to ban abortion nationwide. Not only is this a horrible, highly restrictive bill — it’s also painfully anti-democratic. The vast majority of Americans SUPPORT the right to an abortion and do not want to see this kind of extreme abortion ban anywhere in the country — and especially not coming down from the federal government. As if the 2022 election wasn’t important enough … it just became even more critical that we fight to win political power in this year’s midterm elections.
If we don’t see enough grassroots support, we’ll be at serious risk of having to pare down our voter protection programs. If we do that, Democrats could LOSE in key races up and down the ballot. And the, we’ll really be in trouble because the Senate could pass an abortion ban, and state legislatures could have more power to execute even stricter bans across the country.
